Heres another good one.
I work for a big corporation servicing dealers that sell our products.
Sometimes I drive the vette on calls.
One time, one of the dealers sales personnel drives up next to me in his jacked up 2015 GMC diesel crew cab dualie 4x4 and says 'man, i should work for your company they obviously pay you better than they do us'
REALLY?
You pull up in a $60000 new truck and tell me that?

While getting gas for my 90 coupe, a mid-age women walks up to me and says" you can only drive that car in the daytime, it didn't come with headlights." I just shook my head and walked away. And to think that she can vote!!!

Oh well, guess the Forum ****'s can put me in timeout...wouldn't be the first time a forum has made an example out of me! LOL! I thought it was Corvette kill stories that were off limits? Either way, the Expy nor the F350 can handle it...that much I'm sure ofjust saying...
I had been under the impression that my 84 was bone stock (I'm the 3rd owner) but one of my co-workers, who is the resident Corvette Guru here...owns three and has owned several C4's (one was an 84), took a spin in mine and said that "something" has been done to the car because he felt like it pulled pretty stout for an 84. Gears? Car does have a minor lope to it, I just figured it was the norm. I'm not breaking it down to investigate. If it breaks, we'll take a look! LOL! I just maintain normal maintenance and enjoy driving it. I figure if or when it breaks, I'll join the 383 club...but not until the 350 is tired. 106K on the clock today...I'm in no hurry.

Not a stupid remark, but a treasured one:
While in her Vette on our way to the assigned parking spot, carefully picking her way through the throngs gathered at a cruise night, a man walked in front of us while holding onto his (6-year old(?)) son's hand. Suddenly, the boy stopped and pointed at my wife in the driver's seat while pulling on his father's hand. "Hey, dad, LOOK! There's a GIRL driving that car!!" Ah,.. it's been years since, but still funny.
In fact, it is almost timeless! At a party/gathering after we arrive in one of her Vettes, someone will come up to me and ask something about the car. And, the look of astonishment on their faces when I point to Ami and tell them they'll have to ask the owner about it.
At some point afterwards, we'll enjoy a private joke when one of us will say to the other, "Hey, LOOK! There's a girl driving that car!!"

"That looks like the V6 model."
"The back seats must be small."
"I can't believe you mounted the front license plate."
"What a gas hog."
"Corvettes are stupid." (I presume they drove a Prius or a minivan.)
Too many ignorant comments to list here...

You should have reached in and pulled the headlight switch.
The look on her face would have been priceless!

I chalk it up to the timeless beauty of the C4 design - especially the convex rear bumper seems to "blend" with the age?

When I would go by the elementary school if the kids were outside on the play ground they would all start yelling "DO THE HEADLIGHTS!!!" and motion with their arms like they were rolling up a window.
I would turn the headlights on and off a few times for them as I drove by
I think what started it was when I went there a few times fixing a wifi router the company I owned had set up for the school. I had used the headlights when it was raining best I remember.

The dumbest comment I can recall is the day I picked up my `95 near Chicago at Corvette Mike`s back in Sept `07. I stopped to get gas just outside of Chicago when I guy ask me if my Vette was a brand new `07 at the time. I took it as a compliment because it is a clean car but really? Two Generations back.
