Default Doesn't get better than this!

With the Commercial Real Estate market here in California, totally dead in the water, it didn't take long for my little brain to start thinking. Going through a third divorce (yeah, I know...) and needing space for the Corvette, the Harley, the mountain bikes, the huge vintage JBL and EV pro studio monitors.

So my partner and I leased an light commercial and industrial space. 1,500 sq feet for $750 a month. And it has a private bathroom and a separate office. We got the keys Thursday afternoon and I was there until 9 pm last night. We've got our workbenches and rollaway tool boxes lined up, the boats parked and now the 95' sits in a nicely insulated and cool shop instead of baking in a tiny storage locker that is only 10x20 and barely fit the Vette.

Yes, we have a cooler, working on a fridge, but we've got tunes aplenty, absolutely no neighbors and we were alone back in the back row (we deliberately picked it out like this), blaring tunes, hoisting brews and working on our stuff. No women bugging us (or calling us for that matter!), no interruptions, no nothing!

Next is to adjust the brake booster again! It was good for a week or so, but now I think the whole system is 'settled in' and we can readjust the brake booster as it's still going to the floor when it's cold!

Oh, and it's unit C-13!

At first it sounds like a crazy idea till you stop and think how much a good man cave garage costs.

Great idea if you can afford it.

Honestly would be a great idea for me when I look for a business location to get one like this.

My buddies and I have thought about doing this very thing for years now. Our only problem is, that kind of space with those amenities is much more costly here. Congrats!



BTW....we need MORE pics of the new man Cave.

If you can split it with another bro or even two more, it's not that bad. I think it came down to having a place to work on the Corvette or anything we have, in a shaded environment, that's easy to pull in and out. We have free water and trash too. The hose is right by the roll-up door and all we have to do is roll it out. We can also wax the vehicles without having to park it under a tree or again, in the garage. And we're not stuck jacking it up on and angled driveway or the typical tight quarters of a garage.

I found this place on Craigslist. We'll have more pictures up by the end of the week!

Exactly! We're going to do just that and we already have a place to stash both boats and cars!

Hell, you could probably do a couple of brake jobs a week and pay the rent on the place.

I seem to remember a thread or news article a while back about someone doing this and having the city come after them for a business permit. Didn't matter that no business was conducted, the city wanted their cut.
