Default Got a question about my very sweet torch red '92

Not sure I have ever posted on here before, but I have been trolling the site for the last 2-3 years.

Bought a beautiful, LT-1, torch red coupe with automatic and 15.5 thousand miles two years ago. Actually bought it sight unseen (other than pics) on Ebay and had it shipped from Rhode Island to Texas where I live (could have been the stupidest thing I would ever do). I have to say that the car turned out to be exactly what I had expected! A very beautiful, low mileage cream puff!

I have enjoyed it as my second car and keep it in our third garage at home. It is driven sparingly and now has a bit less than 19k on it now- probably 18.6 or 18.7. I don't drive it much, but when I do, I enjoy it very much. I split time between driving topless and driving with the hard cover on- it's all good!

Now my dilemma- I have three kiddos and obviously it is very difficult to take more than one of them on a drive. More specifically, two of my children are young boys and they are both really in to cars! Because of this, I am considering selling this beauty and buying something that I can take more people in at one time. After looking at options, it seems they are a bit limited. I don't want to spend a TON of $, but I don't mind spending in the low to mid 20's. I have been looking at some late 90's/early 0's 911's, but don't really see any other options. I don't really want a Mustang- honestly, I find them boring! What other options do I have?

OK, I have spewed a bit here, and probably have not done a very good job of expressing my thoughts, but trying to make a decision if I should sell the current Vette and buy something else. Let me hear your thoughts. Thanks.

Perhaps "The Family Truckster" would work?

You'll regret selling the Vette in the long run, better off selling some of the kids!

The Porsches are nice, but spend a little more and go for 993 or a 996 twin turbo. The non-turbo 996s are known to have engine problems (intermediate shaft failure). You don't want to have to replace an engine in a Porsche!

I had a modified 996 twin turbo and really liked it.

Some good ideas and pictures from the guys here. I was just watching Barrett Jackson in Orange County I had recorded and there were some fantastic buys on 60s and 70s restored muscle cars in your price range so that could be a one way to go.

Like the stretch white, but not sure how that thing would corner!!

I would love a 911 turbo, but when you start talking about "spending a little more", I think that little may be a good bit outside my budget. Seems like most of the turbos are $40K+

I like classic muscle cars, but if it's something I am going to drive on a fairly regular basis, I probably need to have something that is a little more recent.

A little over priced generally (but the deals are out there). Great cars. Makes you wonder why the brains at GM here couldn't make one.
