Radio Problem

Have her ship the entire car (this will take at least TWO books of stamps) to doctordons.com, or one of the other reputable shops mentioned in the dozens of threads in here.

He's exaggerating, of course. You don't have to ship the whole car. Just remove the entire dashboard and ship it to Doctordons. Should fit in a 24x24x72 box.

All she said it's static. I thought someone here from North Jersey Might know of a good radio repair shop. I guess not. That will teach me from straying from the C6 forum.

Unless the local shop is sharp with C4's, you might want to provide us with the model year of the car in question. One possibility is that the tuner is dead. It is in a separate box located in two possible locations depending on year. If the tape/cd player still works- I'd shop for a good used receiver.
Radio repairs are deceptively expensive on these cars- you might just price a modern replacement- speakers and all.

You might want to post the question over in the Audio/Electronics section of the CF. Add some more details if you can.
What year is the car? Does it have the Bose system? Is it constant static on the radio? When playing cassettes/CD's? Does the static sound rise and fall with engine RPM? Does it come from all speakers? Just one?

This one from Corvette Central is a plug-in for all exisiting C4 plugs and works with
the existing Bose speakers. The center console need a bit of trimming and must remove
everything from the radio to the receiver for a proper installation. It is better than any
Bose, but not the greatest radio in the aftermarket.
