Default 93 six speed question

under wot the gear shifter rises about an inch in first and second gears. The motor mount appear to be ok, engine just flexs alittle at 5 grand. Is something broken or is the shifter rising normal?

bad C beam; the aluminum beam which attaches at the rear of the transmission to the front of the differential. First try tightening the bolts (two in the front two in the rear); you might get lucky and thats all that's needed, but more likely, the bolts and c beam tend to shift around under load and "egg out" or enlarge the mounting holes in the beam, making the problem worse. If thats the case the beam should be removed and repaired or replaced. If it continues, the webbing on the differential housing and transmission tailshaft housing, which the c beam bolts to, can start to crack and fail.

Must be the front mounts then. Try tightening the C beam bolts anyway, they can be snug and still cause trouble under a large load/ torque.
