1988 console shifter plate
Hi, Can anyone advise me were I can get the six small inserts that go in the bottom of a 1988 C4’s console shifter plate to attach the shifter boot and shift indicator plate housing to the console plate……………Thanks

I've looked for those, too, but haven't found them anywhere. I want to replace my shift boot and I've also been having difficulties keeping the shift indicator in the right place

those things are called palnut on-sert fasteners-
not sure what size is required or where you can buy just a few of them, but here is a data sheet...

edit/added info - i dug up an old console bezel from a 90 corvette, and the "on-sert" dimensions are .422 diameter, with a #8 (x15 or 18) sheetmetal screw fastener. from the data sheet, that part number needed is NR 818006. if you go to the left of the page, you can request a sample. on the request form, there is a quantity required, and i'm guessing you could request a quantity of 6. there is, however, a $5 shipping and handling charge. a small price to pay if you need these things. i would double check the size requirement for an 88 console though...
