Default Replace 1988 centre cap bolt

Hi all, the centre cap security screws on my 88 are well and truly mashed up, probably as a result of a previous owner having lost the key and just getting a slot cut in the head. Anyway, I'm wondering could I simply replace them with 10mm stainless steel socket head cap screws? Any likely problems? Thanks in advance.

of course you could. Also they've got reproduction replacement locks that are identical for sale too.

Thanks for that - no risk of galvanic corrosion between the stainless and alloy then?

See for yourself:

I used ss bolts on a set of rims I had refinished and never had a problem.

If your still curious then use a rubber washer between the two.
