Default WTB - 1986 Pace Car

Hi everyone; it's been a while since I've been on the forum; sold my '91 and had since gotten a '96 Viper, then a 2008 Dodge Super Bee; always had the Vette blood running through my veins, and knew I would be back; I'll keep a lookout in the classifieds section, however I'm looking for either a red or yellow convertible, automatic, in all original condition, preferably an original owner car, however I realize that it's getting harder and harder to find one as the years go on; I found one so far out in California; not sure if anyone on the forum is anywhere near this location, and could stop by and check it out a little closer if the get a moment;

I'll post this in the classified section as well; hope everyone has a great holiday

Shoot me a PM if you know of anyone interested in selling one.......

Regards, Chris

Mine is like the White pace car in the secont posting, in my opinion one of the more beutiful colors although a yellow one will hold a higher resale value as it was the color which actually paced the race.

Thanks guys; I came across that white one in some of my previous searches; I'll have to call about the yellow one to see how many miles it currently has on it; appreciate the leads and will keep you posted in my search; figured it would be a good time to buy now in the dead of winter......

Here's another one for you. I can look at it closer for you if you want. I'll be in that town working next week.

I think your looking for the right Corvette, however I may be a little biased.

Thanks, yes I saw that one as well, however I'm pretty much sold on getting an automatic; beautiful car though, and appreciate the offer to pop over and check it out

Thanks, another beautiful one, but again, looking for an automatic; it seems like a higher proportion of the yellow ones are 4+3's vs. automatics.....

Since almost 8000 '86 pace cars were made do they command a premium over other L98 Verts? As I recall there's nothing unique about them except for the decals.

When I was looking last spring, there was a gold(ish) colored pace car for sale in the Raleigh NC area. It had high 90's mileage and the price was well under $6K. The pics looked great. It was still for sale around 6 months later. That's only one example, but if those cars demanded substantially more than other 86's, I would have thought it would have moved right out at that asking price. My guess is, it only makes a difference if the car is low mileage and in excellent condition. Also, the car in question did not have the decals on the door, only the interior decals.
