JW Speaker headlights.
I was wondering if anybody has them already and has any feedback.
I have been researching them since my jeep days, and today i finally found a deal I could not pass up.
I bought a set on the auction site, and i guess I will get them installed once I get back from my next trip.
I am looking for any hints and tips for installation and aiming. They are an absulute plug and play deal, even in the jeep cherokee that was even more limited in room than the C4 buckets.
I took a trip the Key West in the Vette last year, and the stock headlights were a complete joke and made the night trip a pretty tense one for the wife since there are long stretches of no street lights at all. I was contemplating an HID retrofit and also the H4 conversion on Hella or Cibie housings. I think LED's are the way of the future in lighting, and at the price I found today, i just could not pass them up.

Lot's of views but no comments. I guess they are not popular enough yet over here. I decided on the JW speaker LED headlights over the Trucklites based on the projector design rather than the reflector type of the Trucklites. I will report back with comparison with stock and beam pattern/cutoff once I get them installed.

Yes, I have seen that. Pretty good comparison. In reality the Trucklites are pretty good, but from talking to couple of jeep friends that have them, they seem lighter built than the JW's. The JW's seem to have a better cut off and light output in low beam, though only small advantahe over the trucklites; but the Hi Beam is really spectacular in the videos.

Wow, there's absolutely no comparison between the JW and Trucklites; the JW's win hands down (although hi-beam isn't that great on either).
But, from what the video author states, JW's are twice the price. Even so, I just couldn't buy the Trucklites.
I'd be interested in seeing some photos of the output when you get them installed, speedy.

I got my JWs for roughly the same price as the trucklites, paid 480. For the pair. When you look at the price of getting projectors retrofited, HID's that can burn, mess with ballasts, extra wiring, etc the JW's for that price don't look too bad. There's a lifetime warranty fir the product too.

I found a review for the JW 8900, replacement for the 6054 type headlights of the C4. The first part is unboxing and dry run of the light inside a warehouse, but if you advanced passed 9:00 there is a drive right after dusk showing the different low and high beams.
The 8900 has definitely a much better highbeam than the 8700 round 7 inch light of the first video.
The 8900 square light has a total of 5 projectors, plus a separate white LED for city light.

Wow, those are fantastic. Never heard of JW Speaker. A bit steep in price for me, but looks like a nice option for those that do some serious night driving. Got excited for a bit as these would be great on my truck, but I'll stick with my H4 bulbs.
Look forward to seeing how they look/work on the vette still though.

There is a vendor on Flebay who has them for less than half the regular price.
That is who I bought them from.
Mine should be home in a couple of days, but I will not be back until the 20th, so install will be later in the month. I have the gear/ pellet rebuild kits too, so I guess I will do a complete headlight treatment at that time.

If you have the time to do it place on new on on the left and a stocker on the right and take a picture out of the windshield at night so we can see the difference

Well, I am thinking of doing a before and after video in a stretch of road that has no lights, first with the stocks in low and high, then with the JW's. I think it will be better than trying to judge the output of only one side for comparison.
I will also do a half/half comparison then.
I will do the videos over two different nights to allow me the time to do the headlight motors gear / pellet repairs.

From everything I looked at:
LED's : JW Speaker and Trucklites.
HID's (the right, non blinding way, but still not legal if the police decides to check and give you a ticket) retrofitting bi-xenon prijectors into a 6054 housing. Easier said than done, as it is a bit involved; and ready made retrofits are also kind of expensive and could require modification of the headlight bucket.
HID's ( the easy way ) dropping HID bulbs into H$ ready 6054 housings (best are the Cibie's and Hella E-code. These are also not road legal, and couldget you a ticket if the cops decide to throw the book at you.
H4 6054 housings with H4 high output bulbs. This is probably the best option to remain legal and improve your night visibility, all within a reasonable budget. Best housings again are the same Hella E code and Cibie. Some people use up to 100 watt bulbs with stock wiring with no issues.
HID in the fog lights. Many people have installed HID kits in their fog ligh housings, with excellent light output and low enough that it does not cause too much glare for oncoming traffic.
Prices vary, from the JW Speaker for around 550 each (a lot cheaper can be found if you shop with patience) Trucklites for around 250 each, HID kits vary in price and most say that you get what you pay for. Hella E codes are around 100 to 120 for the pair, and Cibie's are pretty scarce but go for about 250 per pair.
H4 bulbes range from around 11 each to 40 dollars depending on output and brand.
I chose the JW speakers because I wanted to remain legal and not have any isues with a retrofit; did not want any permanent pods in the headlight buckets, and wanted lights that would be 100 per cent drop in.I made an offer on flebay for 240 per light and it was accepted. That price put me around the ball park figure of a good HID projector retrofit with bi-xenons.
That's my story, and I am sticking to it....
