Default 96 convt decklid vynl trim piece

Just purchased a 96 LT4 convt. The decklid vynl trim piece (the fiberglass that has the interior color vynl piece that goes along the forward edge) has many bubbles in the vynl. Anyone know how to get them out or where to purchase a new one? Tried heat from blow dryer but that didn't work.
Thanks,

New ones are available, but the going price is around $400. I've been trying to find a good used one for a couple of years with no luck.

Corvette America sells them but I don't have my catalog handy to give a price. I'm wanting to think they were pretty reasonable.

I have read that a syringe with glue worked on similar projects.

I have the same issue on mine. It's one of the items on the to-do list to get done.

I was thinking of gently pulling the vinyl up high enough to spray some 3M headliner adhesive underneath then use a soft plastic squeegie to smooth it out. The plastic backing panel looks like it can be removed from the lid, after drilling out a couple of plastic rivets (that will have to be replaced).

I haven't seen or heard if anyone has already attempted this, but seems like it would be the least costly solution.

Default C4 decklid

I've tried inserting glue with a shringe with a very small needle, but the bubble in the vynl would not compress. Seemed to spongy. I'll try Covette America.

Thanks,

Try one of the Corvette salvage yards for a good used one. I'll bet they are pricey though.
