Default 84 factory rim question

I bought a couple of 9.5 "factory" original look rims that were like new to get the 9.5 rim on all 4 corners of my 84 so that I could rotate the tires, at least front top back, without taking them of off the rims.
The rims that I bought are great and look awesome... but when I was installing them after I had my tires changed over I notice that on the back side they say "Made in Japan" and something like "Enkei" ?
So I am thinking that these may be aftermarket since my originals say "Made in the USA" and "Modern Wheel", which GM must have had making the rims or did GM have more than one supplier? These are definitely 84/85 style rims with the black centers.
Thanks,
Glen

I think Enkei was and is an OEM supplier, just like Speedline, but they could be aftermarket. I bought a set of A Molds from Factory Reproductions off ebay and they are very well done to OEM standards, and they are Chinese made. So I wouldn't be concerned for a minute about the wheels you bought.

Enkei did the 9.5's for '86 & '87 I believe and I've read that the J55's "might" fit the Enkei 9.5's. No first hand knowledge but I believe I've seen it around here on the Forum. The Modern would have been '84 & '85 like what you have. It might be interesting if you could compare the weights of each, I don't believe I've ever seen that commented about.

I can weigh them with the tires on, which are stock size and were put on at the same time and have about 9kmiles on them.
But the other part is that I was just surprised that they were "Made In Japan" -not a quality concern, just surprised.

That symbol isn't a manufacturers "trademark" it's a certification required of all wheels constructed in Japan. Enkei wold have been spelled out like yours. The JWL - is explained here:
