Default Great story/pics of my 7,799 mile 1992 Corvette Convt that arrived tonight.

Last yr I had seen this 1992 Corvette Convt with only 6,700 miles and in my favorite color combo, Quasar Blue Metallic with White Sport Bucket seats and White top going off at the Mecum Auto Auction In Indiana. I had viewed it on line but missed by 20 minutes in my bid. A couple weeks ago I was speaking with Roger of Rogers Corvettes in Florida and as we closed the conversation he asked "is there anything I can do for you?" Seemed simple enough, I said yeah, find me a low mileage Quasar Blue with white int/white top C4...he said "well there is one on Ebay right now! I hung up and contacted the owner and within the week I bought it. It now has 7,799 miles and looks as Mint as the day it rolled off the floor at Abraham Chevrolet on E Hillsborough Ave in Tampa, FL. Seq# 012259 now resides in my Garage and just in the nick of time...this car has never seen rain and if it had arrived 30 minutes later it would have had its first rain fall. I got the call from the Plycar Trucker that he was just getting off exit 11 headed my way...I said dont look now but I am coming home from work and I am 1200 yards behind you! We pulled up at the same time which allowed me to take the following pictures. My NCRS# is 19053 and I hope to get it judged sometime this Summer. Last time I did that was 1993 and it was for my 1961 Corvette. The difference this time is that this car is factory fresh and original and we all know that they are only original once! MSRP is $43,909 equipped: Group #1, White Sport Bucket seats, Delco Bose cass/CD, 6 way pass seat, Auto Trans.. I have the build sheet and MSRP label.
Let me know if any of you have any info/ items from the original selling dealership from this time frame. Thanks and enjoy the first set of pictures.

AWESOME!

Quasar Blue is my other favorite color for the C4, and the white interior sounds like the perfect match!

Drool time for the C4'ers.

Mike Furman is the customer here, rather than his usual position as the #1 Corvette volume sales rep. in the USA at Criswell Chevrolet in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Plycar Transport certainly did a commendable job delivering this precious Vette.

How do owners of these low mileage, 20 plus year old Corvettes handle fluid changes? Do they change the engine oil every year as recommended, even through only a handful of miles are driven annually? Are the fluids, belts, hoses and tires changed out per manufacturers recommendations according to time rather than mileage limits?

Mike, Congratulations, it's even nicer than it looked in the other pictures that I had seen of the car. May you have many years of enjoyment with this beautiful car. Make room in the garage for another trophy shelf.

Too funny. I am not a collector of trophies. I had over 180 from my athletic career and I tossed all of them except two. One for my Little League Championship team and my Gold medal from when I won The Junior Olympics for Wrestling.

But I am looking forward to getting this 92 Judged by NCRS judges for a Top Flight Award.

Very very cool

Abraham Chevrolet became Autoway Chevrolet when the Autoway brand began to go nationwide. Unfortunately they closed the dealership at least five years ago. If you know Tampa, that part of Hillsborough Ave. isn't the best place to try and operate a dealership anymore and that piece of property was very small compared to today's megastore standards.

The one noticeable thing Abraham Chevy used to do was brand the back of their cars with a gold ABRAHAM nameplate. Obviously I hope they didn't do that with your fine piece of machinery.

Growing up they always had an ad in the back of the sports section of the Tampa Tribune and the top of the ad always had a bible verse. Always struck a chord with me.

Very cool info. Thank you. I do remember Dwight Gooden being from that part of Tampa. No dealer name tag on this car.
