cant find where these window guides go
i bought window guides for both windows for my 89 vert, and cannot find where they go? I have looked and looked and looked, and rolled that window up and down a thousand times, and have no idea where they go. I do not see anything that resembles them on the window.
And honestly, with the door panel off and the aluminum thing out and the window halfway down, i cant tell where the slack is when i move the window back and forth with my hands. You guys have any ideas?

My 89 does the same thing. You can pull up and down on the top rear of the window and it rocks at least a 1/2 inch. I installed new window regulators
for both doors which didn't help. I also installed new felt pads which puts
pressure on the glass which didn't help.
Conclusion is they left the factory that way. If the window is down half way and
you close the door it sounds like the glass is going to shatter.
I believe starting in 93 a window guide was installed to better support the window glass. From your description, the part you purchased is for 93 or newer C4's.

well thats great. They were $50.
i was told i needed them. I cant imagine these windows are supposed to be this loose. And with the door shut, the top corner on both sides is on the outside of the top, not underneith.

Here's an article describing installing a new style regulator in the
older C4's that used a ribbon drive. It describes the window adjustments
after installing the new style regulator.

Not sure, but most items I get from Corvette Central come with instructions and a diagram. You might call them about these. Note that they have both right and left sides listed.

Corvetteronw.....those are the ones I bought, but apparently the 89 doesn't have them. I took them back and got my money back. I guess I'll take it to a guy here that's an expert with corvettes and see if he can figure out what's wrong.

The window glass is pressed rather snugly between the inner & outer sweeps and there is no "rattle" when closing the door with glass half way up/down.
