Rear wheel bearing check
On my 95 coupe, 71K miles, I have been getting the click from the rear end when starting and stopping. Figured it was the the teflon washer. Jacked up the rear, grabbed the tire at 12:00 and 6:00, virtually no movement. At 3:00 and 9:00 I get maybe 5mm movement. Went to the other side, exact same thing. Does that sound okay? Back and forth, I did not notice any unusual movement in the u-joints. Feel pretty good about it, am I wrong?

Mine has the same mileage, and has the same click. All bearings and U-joints are good, so that leaves the washer as the most likely culprit. I plan to leave it unless/until the bearing goes.

I don't think the washer causes any click. Most likely ujoint. Sometimes it's hard to tell which one

On my '94 they did. I noticed it mainly from a stop when I began moving and especially when I was turning left. (Mine was the left rear washer) It made a clicking noise. I replaced it and the noise was gone.
Try checking this thread. It helped me.

Good luck.

Replaced my teflon washers today, while I was in there I replaced all 4 axle shaft u-joints and polished the axle shafts. Not a bad job, only had to make one trip for tools, did not have a 36 mm socket for the hub nut. Cleaned up and polished some of the aluminum frame while I was under there, I'll take some pics and get the posted. Turned out being an all day job, but only because I did a lot of extra cleaning and polishing while I was at it.
I followed quickcat's step by step post, he nailed it. No more click when starting and stopping

Before you do all that surgery, re-torque the flange nuts to 164 lbs-ft. If the noise continues, be ready to pay for it, or to have a great weekend.

I am in the process of doing this tomorrow. I tried yesterday but snapped a cheater bar trying to take the 36mm nut off! Now it is soaking with PB Blaster on it. I hope to be able to break it loose and finish, I am tired of hearing the clicking on my 94 coupe

Go buy an electric impact gun. I had mine for 7 years, and it works like a charm.

What do you mean, the wheel bearing? When I saw in my service manual that they had to be torqued at 160 , I was a little surprised.

Try torquing the nut first.
