Depends on how hard I'm driving...track time and autocrossing gets that oil changed far more frequently. Also if it's been dusty, dirty...lots of hot (traffic jam) driving...that it the hardest on an engine and should get the oil changed more often.
And it's 3 months or 3000 miles usually...

I change mine somewhere between 3000 and 3500. I have done this with every car I have owned and I have had good luck so far. I have only had my change oil light come on 1 time in the Corvette and it was right after I changed the oil. I do not believe I would trust the light.

i do it when the light comes on, which happens right around every 5000 miles.
how do you change the filter without draining the oil? don't you lose a lot of oil that way?

At the light. Computer keeps track of driving conditions and the oil. If you enjoy spending $80 at the dealership every 3,000 miles the go for it. I would rather not give them anymore money than possible. Synthetic oil lasts longer and therefore does not break down like organic oil so there is no need for the **** 3,000 mile Jiffy Lube crap.

You actually pay someone else to do it?
I change my own oil and filter every 3000 miles if I drive it gently and sooner if I don’t,
(yes I’m **** too). It only cost me the price of the oil and the filter.

I havent put on 3k or 5k yet (only put on approx 1,400)
but the guy at the Vette shop changed it with Mobil 1 before I picked it up and said to change it at 5k......He also said he'd kick my butt if he caught me going to Jiffy Lube !!!! ( guess it helps that I worked there for a few years when I was younger)
