They do hate C4s

LS Fbods are awesome cars with one little exception. All of the hard top and ttop cars from 98-02 used crappy glue on the roof, and EVERY one of them will develop pits that oozes gray goo. GM quit making the panels about 5 years ago because they were getting killed with repair requests!
I've had an 00 and an 01 SS and they both developed the issue!

IDK where you're getting those numbers. I've ran 13.7 in Salt Lake City. '93Ruby has gone 13.3's I believe. Both he and I believe the cars can go basement 13's. "High 13's" for an LT1 is probably right for the average driver, but that is not an accurate representation of what the CAR is capable of.

I've said this a million times. The mustang guys are my friends. I don't really associate with late model lsx gm crowd.
My work truck has an lsx motor in it and it would get spanked by my supercharged 93 lt1.
If the lsx is so great then why are they bringing the lt1 back to the c7

I have owned both of these cars, a 02 SS Camaro, and two c4's, an LT1 and now my LT4. I only had the Camaro for 111 days, before I sold it to get my LT4. That should tell you which I like better. As plenty of people have already said above, in a drag race between the 2 it comes down to the driver, and on a road course the C4 will destroy the f-body. Here are the reasons I prefer a c4 over the ls1 f-body.
Compared to a c4 the Ls1 cars feel huge, it is a bigger car, but the f-body feels even bigger than it is.
There is no comparison in handling. The F-body suspension is way softer than the c4. It can’t be pushed nearly as hard in corners. It always feels like it is about to fall over on its side. To me the f-body felt no different than my lowered mid-eighties full size GMC truck.
The “short throw shifter” that came in the SS and WS6 trans-am’s feels like driving a manual truck. I never drove a z28 or non-ws6 trans-am but I am sure they are even worse.
Looks wise the C4 wins by a mile. No question or debate there.
The trunk in the f-body is stupid. This might not matter to some people but it used to annoy the hell out of me. Take out the t-tops and put them in the trunk and the trunk becomes useless and stupid.
Every time I got in or out of the Camaro I thought to myself why the f*ck are these doors so big.
Catalytic convertor hump, the cat is right under the passenger’s feet. Makes the passenger side floor hot and it really messes up the foot well on the passenger side.
Torque dimples, if you launch the F-body hard enough the frame will twist slightly as you launch which leads to dimples down the sides of the cars behind the doors. This will happen with stock power and I have seen it on cars that supposedly have never been to the track.
The rear differential, the stock rear end they put in the f-body’s is just as bad as a Dana 36.
The engine is under the cowl which makes changing the rear most sparks plugs a bitch, unless you are 6 years old and have tiny arms.
The back seats are basically useless. I realize it is supposed to be a small sports car but I am 5’11 and the only person that could sit behind me was the six year old I adopted to change the spark plugs.
The seats are super uncomfortable and not supportive at all.
I am sure there are some more things I am forgetting but those were the big things to me.

At sea level with good driver and good running car I think bone stock LT1 ZF6 coupes can run low 13's like child's play.
I like 4th Gen F-Bodies, I'd own one.
I like how this discussion is all about straight line stuff.
Throw in a few corners and a C4 will all but murder a stock F-body in ANY kind of handling game.
That being said, a modified 4th Gen F-body that is well driven is quite the good handling car.
In ALL of this, driver mod is the game changer in MOST cases.
