Hatch Strut request...
Will someone with the OEM or replacement MidAmerica Hatch Struts, turn the rear defogger button on and feel if each strut connector (Top and Bottom) feel hot?
My rear window defogger worked great until I replaced the struts, now each connector gets sizzling hot!...
The Mid America replacement struts I want to order, look exactly like the ones I just bought and I don't want to buy them if they're the same ones.
Thanks!...

Bought mine at MA, no problems.
That said, if the connections are getting hot, then there is some resistance associated with the connection(s). Resistance there is likely due to corrosion, I would think. Check/clean the connections and apply some dielectric grease. That should take care of it.

All connections are Clean and Tight. The only thing I did was change the struts with Aftermarket struts.
If the Mid America struts work with the defroster grid, I'll order the struts from them. Thanks...

All the struts do is complete the circuit.
Consider pulling the chassis connectors and reading the amperage from connector to connector.
Might try making a set of jumpers to eliminate the struts to determine if the struts are the problem.

Thanks, but, already did that.
I just wanted to know if it's normal for the strut connectors to get a little warm or hot when in use.
Edit: I connected both strut wire connections on the passenger side strut, with a length of 10 gauge wire and both connections remained cool!
So, the new struts I bought must've had an internal short or break?...
