Default Front license plate cover ??

Should the front license plate cover be painted all the way around? Or is just the face painted on a stock one? I had a crappy white one that was thin and flimsy oh and the corvette lettering looked weird. So I ordered a OEM one that I will have to get painted. Also I see the bolts that hold it on but what tool fits in there without scrching the car?

All 5 surfaces get painted and if you've got the correct hardware you'll have no issues with the install!

A torx wrench or phillips screw driver fit without scratching.
Mine had phillips head screws, but i have seen others with torx screws.

You can wrap a thin piece of cloth or even masking tape on the screwdriver to keep it from scratching your plate cover.

Thanks guys

Just made me think there should be a line of tools that has a rubber protective grip that would run the length of the tool.

Why not just install a piece of heat shrink on a plain ol' screwdriver.....

That does work and quite well! Never used it on a flat-blade but on torx and phillips yes.

The factory used torx screws, if that matters to you.

I had a folding torx all in one style tool that worked well. Looked kinda like a swiss army knife of torx. It worked well on that plate because each one was nice and thin. I'd take it off every once in a while to clean the plate well and clean behind it
