I was 15 when I got my '72, now I am 23. I have had several C1-C5s. Sadly I just have my '72 left, for now, until I can build the collection again. I also currently own a 1970 428 CJ Mustang.

But I would definitely say that I beat just about everyone to it. I grew up as kid in a 1960.

I was living in Hawaii at age 15, but moved to Texas for college. Now that I have graduated, I fly airplanes now!

I bought my first Corvette when I was 23, 2 years out of college. It was one year old and cost about 1/2 of my $10K /year salary.
In order for a young person to duplicate that today, that is buy a 2014 C7 for half their annual gross income they would have to be making about $110K per year.
I know there are lots of 23 year olds making that kind of money, but I didn't think GM wanted to sell their cars to drug dealers.

Maybe they mean the average age of the 2013 model year vette buyer.

Memories. I had a nice 72 H2 Ported to 120 HP by Purple Haze Racing. Than the recession hit. Now at 54 I own my first Vette and a 2007 Ducati Monster S2R1000. Makes me feel good a little below average.
