Yes, boxing the brace did make a noticeable difference, especially when taking a very tight turn from a stop. There is no longer any "hopping".
I used 4" wide flat stock, cut to appropriate length. The X-brace is almost exactly 4" wide, so it's easy to fit. Tack weld all the pieces every few inches to avoid warping, and then do full length welds after that. After that it's just cosmetic.....I ground it smooth and sprayed rubberized undercoating.

What gauge steel did you use?
I will be doing this mod ASAP! Good work.

I was looking for a tray for the floor door behind the driver's seat of my '95 coupe. There is about 2 inches of clearance from the lid to the structures inside and I thought I could use it to store things if I had a shallow tray to fit the space. My wife suggested her egg carrier lid. Much to my surprise it fit perfectly.
So if you are interested in one yourself make sure it is a vintage Tupperware Deviled Egg Carrier. The lid on the left in the link is the part that fits upside down.

91 Vette, Cassette holder delete.
I ground down the cassette holder slots and then used the old fabric as a template to make a new liner. Used 3M77 adhesive to glue down the new liner and done!...

Just remember that the "airfoil" must be retained to promote airflow to the radiator.
Or use a BigMouth airscoop.

Here's a couple I've shown before but will include.
First is a addon to Gadgetman's jack adapter. Simple steel plate that sits in the cup of the jack so it won't side around when putting under the car yet can be removed easily to use the jack under other vehicles
The other is a adapter I made to use in the hydraulic press for changing out u-joints. It only puts pressure on one side of the yoke so there's little chance of bending the yoke accidentally

13 gal plastic trash can
500gpm 7ft waterfall pump from Home Depot
(about the size of your fist, $42)
Length of their 1/2 id clear vinyl hose
Piping hot water + your choice of cleaner/degreaser
Let it run while you do worthwhile things like watch female midget wrestling, replentishing your empty beer can supply or just plain slackin' . Probably make a good king sized booze/ice mixer for those family get togethers....
Actually works real good. Powerful enough to work but not so overkill the hose wants to swing around out of control. Parts washer guys around here want $80 to $100 to clean one.

After perusing some of the Corvette catalogs, I noticed items called route bags available for the C5 and C6 models, but none specifically for the C4. I decided I should have one of these to store my maps and such. I purchased an iPad sleeve bag that I could use the main pocket for maps and the front zipper pocket for my registration and insurance papers. I then obtained an iron-on Corvette emblem from Amazon and a couple of shower razor holders from Kmart. Removed the suction cups, drilled holes in them and pop-riveted them to the back of the bag. I hang the bag on the edge behind the passenger seat of my C4. (see attached pictures)
front of route bag with iron-on patch & front zipper pocket for registration, etc.
back of bag showing shaver holders (suction cups removed) pop-riveted to bag with long
part of rivet out the back to help grip the carpet preventing bag from sliding
I added a 1 inch by 8 inch piece of plastic inside for pop-rivet reinforcement.

I apologize for not having any pics to post but, I reupholstered the plastic deck molding thingy that runs the length of the deck lid on my 95 convertible. I got annoyed when 3 different upholstery shops told me it couldn’t be done well. I bought enough red vinyl for 3 attempts and got it perfect on the first so I have plenty if it gets worn again.

I remember those being advertised years ago. I can't find them anywhere now and was starting to think I was imagining things.
