If you're running (or drove an) 18" wheel setup, step inside...
I'm considering conversion from the stock 17" wheels to 18's.
I've already been running 315/35-17's on the rear but I have 275/40-17's on the front. With 18's, the rears would be either 285/35-18 or 295/35-18. The front's would end up 275/35-18's or 255/35's. Really the front's would be what I'd feel the most. You're more connected to the road through the steering AND the front also seems to hit bumps hardest. There are aspects of my car that are refined (insulation/paint) and aspects that are "sport" (engine/sidepipes/hood). Neither "theme" seems relevant to the outcome -- though I probably lean a bit more to the performance side.
I may lose a bit of traction dropping from 315 to 295 rears -- but it'll just seem like I have more torque!
I've swapped from 16's to 20's on my DD 4WD vehicle -- so I know what THAT's like! I've pretty much gotten used to that change...so I doubt I'd have issue with the conversion to 18's. But, I'm curious what you guys think.

I'm running C5 wagon wheels, 18x9.5 on all four corners. I didn't notice any difference, but that may be the tires. I am running some Coopers and they are pretty hard tire. 275/35/18 on all four corners.
Personally, once I refinish the original wheels I'm putting them back on. Roads were I live suck.

I was running 18 x 9.5 fronts with 275/35 and 18 x 10.5 rears with 295/35, C5Z06 replicas. They looked good, didn't have that fatter front sidewall, and fit perfect. The rears fit flush with the fenderwells and the fronts were the same as the stock 17 x 9.5's. Ride was firm but tolerable.
