Default Anyone looked at this 84 in Antioch, IL?

This car has so many things I love, low miles, its an 84, cloth sport seats and a 4 speed. I am 11 hours away, curious if anyone has looked at it. I am waiting for the to call me back to see if it is Z51.
Please post if you have looked at it.
47k miles and $5,788. I want it.
Thanks,
Shawn

That's a NICE 84! Looks like a Z51 too. The wheels on the back look a little wider than the fronts.

Not all 84 were Z51's, Z51 was an option. My first C4 was an 84 it was not a Z51.

^^Correct. The Z51 option was somewhat uncommon due to the harsh ride. It was bone jarring and extremely darty. if it is a Z51, that would only make it more desirable, imo. I think the dealer is asking a reasonable amount for the car and i think you should jump on it if you want the car. It appears extremely clean and well cared for. The only thing is that you can buy a newer more powerful Corvette for around $6k. However, to me there is something very special about the 84's and they are honestly one of my favorite years for the Corvette. I have owned several 84's and currently have one parked next to my 94 6spd Corvette here in the garage. I REALLY enjoy driving that 84. Its just so raw and it sounds and feels amazing. I would actually NOT pass that car up. I think its a good buy.

Keep us posted. If you want advice on things to look for, feel free to shoot me a pm.

Looks like a very decent car for the price. One thing I would want more information about is the tires. They look very similar to what came on these cars new, and at that mileage could possibly be the originals or at least several years old. I'd look hard at the tires and make sure they're not cracking from dry rot, especially before trying to drive the car much.

Straight from the Corvette Black Book :

1984 Corvette Production : 51,547
RPO Z51 Production : 25,995

So 50.43% had it that year.

I bought a metallic gold 84 with cloth sport seats and Z51 brand new and I really miss it now. There was nothing quite like it, as said above bone jarring and darty like driving a big go-kart around. I loved every minute I was in it!

Maybe because 1984 Standard suspension was nearly the same as 1985 Z51!

Nice clean car for the money. I bet you could probably pull it down for $5200. That would be my offer.

My car was cleaner and I paid $5300 last year. That's why I think the price is just a tad high. The car really is nice and would clean up beautifully though and I would not walk away from it over a few hundred. It's also a 4+3.

If I was selling that 84, I would stick firm on $5700.00 and wait for the right buyer. People walking away from that (low) price wouldn't bother me at all. That car only has 47k miles on it and it has a manual transmission! Excellent buy at that price.

+1. I completely agree. That car's worth every bit of $5,700.

It is killing me, that I am so far away. I am very picky when it comes to a car that I may keep, so I want to make sure it is as nice as the pics. I may go up there after Christmas if they still have it.

If I lived out there I'd be all over that car right now.
Stupidly clean, could be one of the few C4s that you could flip for a profit.

Unless they auction it, my guess is they will still have it. It just snowed here today so I doubt that car will be sold in the next few weeks, if I was closer I would go look at it for you but just cannot logistically do it right now

They put it on ebay. I can't go before Christmas, so it may be gone. If it doesn't reach reserve, that could be a bargaining chip.
