1989 cold start problem Heeeeelp
I need help with My 89, It takes at lease 8 cranks to run went engine is cold, if I spray start fluid in to the T-body it runs right away, and after the engine get to 180 degrees it cranks and run with one crank. I replace most of the parts that have to do with the cold start protocol.

Get a fuel pressure gauge and test the pressure at the rail when you first turn the key to the ON position (don't start). Does the pressure build up to 36-40 psi immediately and then hold?
Get back to us with the results. You can usually "borrow" a gauge from many of the parts houses like Autozone.

What John Marker was headed toward is that your fuel pump relay is probably not turning on when the ignition is turned to the on position. The fuel pump should run for 2 seconds.
