If I was to look for another toy, I would probably look for a 64 or 65 GTO or another 68 Firebird. I liked them a lot and would like another.

My 2 cents...
My favorite cars are the ones I still own. The best cars are being made right now anyhow.
my 2008 C6 LS3 and my 2012 5.0 mustang Gt with 3.55 gears and a tune.
My C4 is right there with those two modern cars acceleration-wise. Not bad for 23 years old now.
If you want to get nostalgic- here's my favorite Camaros from way back. I'll never buy another classic one at premium prices- been there-done that. The new 2016 will be way better I'm sure.
92 1LE (special ordered- took 5 weeks to get):

Drifting
No offence, but are you kidding me??? What do you consider fun?? Going to college in the late 60s in an auto enginerring program everybody had wierd cars that were outside the box. I did an austsin heale 3000, 327 swap and that was way common back in the day. It was a C2 vette beater back then.
How do define fun?
I had a dorm mate that had one. I drove it a few times. It was the most horrible, slowest and worst handleling car ever drove, and I have drove many. As a shop owner for 30 years before I retired I have just about driven everything and collected the finest cars to drive.
A De Lorean, No HP, but a 5 speed car that handles great and you can just floor the gas and throw it around.
The 64 corvette coupe, not even close to stock, now it has a 383 stroker and an old skool muncie and 4.11s.
The C4s wre fun, I loved the tuned port injection.
I also have a pantera, that bug eye sprite scared the crap out of me back in the day.

Yes. I like the cayenne color too. My brother has a '95 dark red that is similar, but I liked the Cayenne a lot better.
I helped a friend do that swap too. It really was a good one. The 327 and 4 speed were about 50 lbs lighter than the original Austin motor and trans. The only problem we had was the oil filter was too long and didn't fit. It was an early style can with a drop in filter. We found a shorter drop in and cut the can and used a shorter bolt. All was well. It really did run good too. A lot of fun, and surprised a lot of pretty strong cars.
