power seat repair
Seriously, after all these years has no one got a source for the drive gears for the power seats? I'd like to try to rebuild the drive not pay $150. and up for a rebuilt unit. If THEY can rebuild them why not us?
I have opened the drive and the PLASTIC gears are shot. New metal gears and problamlo solved! But I would settle for the original plastic.
After all they lasted 15 years. $150 vs 10 bucks plus my labor is more reasonable. I just retired at 62, my tax free 401 doesn't kick in till 11/14 and $300 for 2 seats is 2 steep. I just had to bypass VATS, and it worked!! but not the seat gears?

I wondered the same when I first got mine but all I have seen are new and rebuilt units. No individual parts. Now if you want to get some nice metal gears CNC machined I'd be interested in some...
