Where can one get chrome 16" ZR1 wheels for 1984, C4? Is anyone making them aftermarket? Do not want to go to 17".

Why not?
a 17" performance rim is actually CHEAPER to get rubber for, and opens up a huge amount of options for tire selection. In addition to a stiffer sidewall.

Arguably best upgrade I ever did for my Firebird was going to a 17" rim. I wasn't pigeonholed nearly so much in getting rubber. Was one of the reasons I went for the 89 vette. 17"s right out of the gate.

I saw a set on fleabay this morning. I couldn't believe they were 16" but the photo shows what looks like 255/50-16. Why 16", there getting hard to find and only BFG are making them.

Good wide 16 inch tires are getting harder to come by, 17 inch offers a great choice of sticky tires that are great in the wet or dry.
I have some Nexen N3000 275 40 17 tires that grip like glue are quiet and look good, way better performing than tires 3x the price.

If you already have the tires, then do the upgrade when you next need tires. Corvettecentral has a great choice direct fit or the 56 mm offset which will need adapters.
