PS: I got your PM. I forgot to mention to search the web for specialty suppliers. SO wants to do some wood carving and she found a place by Indy (just as an example) with Ebony and a bunch of other exotic hardwoods on site. It seems to exist just for woodworkers and hobbits.

There may be a place near you too?

Good luck!

Impressions? I have planned to copy this design for weekend track car as helmet hits top so I have to run with the top off.
How do you now put the top back on?

Default Garage work and bath

Finally moved oil tank out of garage so vette can fit inside. I laid mat tiles down and then washed car and put her away. Then got paint and shelving stuff at store. Little more work and garage will be done.

Well, in the last week, Did parade duty, changed out the antenna so it goes up and down now, fixed the center console pad so it is stuck good now, did some work trying to get the windshield wipers like they should be, not yet. More work on the cruise control , not yet. Just enjoying riding about in the car and learning it.

Spent like ten million dollars on heater stuff, Misc hardware, a really, really nice steering wheel cover, K&N air filter, new oil filters for everything we own, (Thanks Fram!) a vinyl stripe to hide a targa top problem for the moment, and a bunch of other junk I probably don't need.

Which isn't particularly interesting, except for these two things.

If you need anything expensive from Advance Auto? They have a code that takes 30% off orders over 50 bucks. That isn't particularly surprising either, except that it seems to include the aftermarket speed stuff too. Some of which I just about know they would never cut by 30%.

The code is TRT30 if you want to try it.

Spend over 75 bucks and get free shipping too.

Also.. That stupid carpeted panel on the RH side of the dash. It was such a hassle to get off. I can barely get my hands up in there.

I'm just going to put wire nuts on the back side and thru bolt that thing, but I want it to look reasonably nice.

These might be of interest to anyone else who never, ever, ever, wants to have to deal with that damn panel, ever again.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The price is reasonable, they're about an inch around, so they'll sink into the carpet a little and look flush. And they come in pretty colors.

Put the replacement wiper motor in place and hooked up the 3 connectors to it to try it before starting the fight to put the mounting bolts back and and attaching the bell crank for the wipers on it. But , a couple days off to let the back heal up before attempting this phase.

@C4gold...sealant is Menzerna. 3 step process...intensive polish, final finish polish, power lock sealant. I don't know much more as I am new to the product but I can tell you my brother has been using it for years on his BMW's and they always look outstanding. My car had those very slight scratches from the previous owner drying the car after washing...most likely not the cleanest towel and defiantly not microfiber. Took them all out...looks much better than when I bought it.
