Speaking of the air dams, I replaced the center one in summer (definitely helped it breath better at higher speeds in the desert heat) but when I went to replace the side ones, I got a bit confused and decided to put it off (it was too hot that day, and the side ones function fine, just look worse for wear).

Anyone have a quick explanation how to remove the side air dams?

Did a little fine tuning with the tps,iac and idle and went for a drive to the Vanderbilt mansion property.

If you look at the picture that shows the bottom of the side pieces, there are 5 bolts. That is it. I am not sure what they thread into however. It might only be the fascia and I am not sure if there are any metal threads mounted in the fascia. So when you are putting it back be careful to not over tighten the bolts. You can feel when they snug up and are seated, just don't crank down on it or you might strip them.

I repaired the rear compartment on our 1992 LT1.

The door would not latch; adjusted the catch assembly with a Philips screwdriver. 5 minutes total.

Life is good.

I pulled the starter out. The solenoid is flakey and I'm going to replace it.

Oh, right. Derp. That's about as easy as can be. I guess I over-complicated it in my own head or something. lol. Thanks. I'll make sure not to crank them back on too tight.

Took a trip to the nearest pic a part yard and went scavenging late 90's Maximas/i30's for rear Bose amps since mine were buzzing all kinds of racket. All the Maximas I saw didn't have the Bose option, but I got lucky and spotted a '98 i30. Yanked those suckers right out of the trunk, called them "speaker switches" at the window and the dude only charged me $2.75 each! Installed them tonight and man, what a difference. Sounds great. First time I've actually had good tunes in my 'Vette. Can't believe I got a pair of working rear amps for $5.50. Its like stealing candy from a baby.

Also, just before replacing the amps I finally got around to replacing the side air dams. Was a lot easier than I thought it would be, actually. Piece of cake.

Anxiously checked the progress of the storm moving West to East as my "new" Ruby 40th travels E. to W. (NM from VT) through or around it on a transport truck. Getting excited now!

I got 275-40-17 sumitomo a/s p01 tires put on in place of nasty dry rotting 255 nangkang front and 285 eagle f1 rear tires on my 9.5" a molds. No tracking issues with them and they are surprisingly quiet. Smooth up to triple digits as well as handle the rain awesome too! Hooray for easy tire rotations too now.

Weather here in NW Oregon has been so good that 87 has been uncovered, and driven every day for the last 5 days. Cool in the mornings but 45-55 afternoons. Today wiped it down, put it in its stall, hooked up battery tender and installed car cover after another nice days of golfing.
