Mine failed California emissions testing today...And in a bad way. Passed visual, but the CO and NOx were WAY high.

Not sure what to do now!

Put new rear wheel hub bearings and teflon washers on my '96.

It has been a few years since I did this on another car and I thought this would be a chance to see how quick I could do it since I already knew what I needed to do and had the tools, etc. Well, nothing ever goes quite as planned. Those three torx bolts took some time to find a way to get the wrench on them and break them free. Still not too bad though, it was about an hour per side without rushing it. I've read that some have done it in about an hour for both sides, but I guess I am slower than that.

And washed it.

I installed tailpipe extensions to get the exhaust out beyond the rear bumper. I may be rationalizing my $50 expenditure, but I think it is considerably quieter inside. The true test will come when the wife rides in it.

When I brought home my 89 my wife came out and wanted to hear the exhaust tone. After starting it and rapping the throttle a couple time she said "not what I expected" and went back inside. Two weeks later I had put on basically muffler eliminators. Right after that she had said "now that's what I'm talking about!".

Took the wife for a ride tonight and she agreed that it is quieter inside...until you GET ON IT. Then it's LOUD.

So now I need to get the front speakers fixed, 'cause I can hear the radio again, but only the rear speakers are working.

Did you buy it from here? I emailed them last week about availability and never got a return email.

Backside of the wheel is looking good.

Makes me jealous. I think the FM5's are my favorite wheel. (some of the CCW's come close though.)

Finally got my brake issues fixed. New booster, master cylinder , stainless lines and rear calipers. Once I was able to get the booster push rod adjusted, if i hit the brakes hard enough now, it'll leave face prints on the windshield !! The booster was bad when I bought it five years ago. Replaced it almost a year ago but wasn't able to drive the car because I was fixing all the ****ling problems that four years of daily duty caused me to let go. Next up, refinish the interior plastic, then a new paint job!

Oil change. Pressure tested coolant system. Tightened a hose. Then went for a rip. Good day. :-)

Weather was gorgeous today. I was going to mow the lawn but instead went for a nice drive.

Got some decent gas mileage too. Much better than I was expecting after going to a 3:07 rear diff and ported edelbrock intake.

I had a CF member that's in our local car club do a plugs and wire change out on my 94 and it made a huge difference in performance. NGK plugs came out which were not real bad but I didn't know what the PO had did to the car. I had stock OEM ac delco wires and ac delco double platinum plugs installed and a new oil pressure sending unit. I will attempt to do a valve cover gasket removal and replace. I am still recovering from rotator cuff surgery and full use of the left arm isn't coming easy.
