Default Is this '85 targa roof panel repairable?

Previous owner did not screw it in and it came off.

I live in Canada and have searched far and wide for a decently priced used one without webbing.

Chunks of acrylic missing out of the back, needs to be filled with something. Topside has been glassed over and painted red.

Bottomside of the acrylic panel has some very large cracks glued together.

If I can fill in the missing pieces, I can refinish the top, then refinish the bottom and spraypaint the bottom black.

Yikes, it looks pretty bad. I don't have any experience repairing a top but would be inclined to give it a try. Don't think it could get much worse. Given that you plan to paint it on both sides, it seems like you should be able to fill in the gaps and reinforce. I wonder if you could also glue/epoxy a thin piece of acrylic on the bottom side for reinforcement. While there seems to be some disagreement as to extent, most folks seem to agree that the top is a structural member of the car and does reduce flexing. Good luck!
