I nearly bought a 2002 viper. It's a sweet car. Wife said no. WTF. Anyway the viper seems to have more power so why does the viper get the backseat? I have always liked vettes but I want a viper. I notice some vette owners put vents into the hood like a viper. What is the view on vipers in the C4 community. If I got a viper who gets the garage the C4? Do I park viper around back?

the Viper's engine sounds terrible, and it's not exactly driver friendly, comfort wise. Great performance # potential, but just think about it like this.
Can you live with an engine that sounds like a 2.5 liter 4 banger with a fart cannon on the back, Every Day for the rest of the time you own the car?

I drove around in a earlier GTS. Honestly the ride didn't do a lot for me but sure got a lot stares. Maybe it was just me, but it seems like everyone looks at those cars. That being said, I don't see many C4's on the street any more. C5's are everywhere. I still stare at any Viper when I see it. They get my vote for the WOW factor.

Vipers are a true "toy car". You wouldn't want to drive one every day, heck most owners don't want to drive them more than once a week. The upkeep and parts are extremely expensive, and the cars basically hate anyone who tries to drive them and want to kill those people and everyone around them.
They are truly not a driver friendly car. They have great performance potential and are very pretty, but the Corvette is a much better very day sports car. All but the newest generation of Viper have no driver aids, and are very difficult to manage. A slip of the throttle can quickly turn into an extremely expensive crash.

They could be calling the Viper obsolete before too long. Too many people are dreaming about them and no one is buying them.

With the Viper, you give up way too much "useability" (in every sense of the word) to get a little more wow factor.
So, owning one would depend on your priorities.
