Seriously for right at 2k you can get 290 horse from a GM Crate engine. That's 10 more horse than what your car has for 3k less. You can find a used supercharger kit for about 3 pretty easily, which will take you up another 145...

If you wanted to go another 700 or so you could get a Ramjet 350 with 350 horse... spend another couple hundred and upgrade the mild cam that's in it....
280 horse for 5k...someone got taken
Ramjet 700 hp tell me more?

It might not have as much HP as some modern vehicles, but considering your torque values, your 0-60 time is likely to be respectable.

Having said that... Not every red light is a potential drag race! You don't have anything to prove! If beating other cars in drag races makes you feel good, please take it to the track.

Just have fun with the car. Its styling is timeless and it handles far better than most modern cars. In good condition, they are surprisingly reliable and efficient, given their age. While the C4 is not technically a rare vehicle, look around at the sea of sedans, SUVs, economy and compact cars... C4s are not common. I feel lucky to own one.

There are faster cars at a stoplight?!...damn..gonna avoid those stoplights then..!! I didn't buy a top fueler...I bought a vette...looks fast standing still, good enough for me. you wanna turn yourself into a big smoldering pile of goo...go right ahead. my advice is, get in, adjust your mirrors, go find a twisty road, and enjoy what you have strapped under you, you wanna break land speed records, go to Bonneville.

Ok thanks buddy. I don't like driving fast on twisty roads. A young kid got run over that way by a mustang where I live. Not to mention you come around the corner and there can be anything there. A deer, trees across the road, a dog, a car broke down.

You guys always say that find a twisty country road. That has to be the worst adice.

I meant for 5700 you could have just bought the Ramjet 350 Turnkey Crate Engine. Comes complete with everything you need to get it rolling, 350 ponies out of the box, and that's with a VERY mild (I believe it's a .430 lift) camshaft.

Hell the damn thing is self tuning and programming too for that matter.

Of course for 5k you could buy an LSX, swap it in and put some mods on it and have a real screamer on your hands.... like Ch@0s and a few others around here have.

By the time I spent 5k on my engine I'll be pushing around 375 hp, and 520 ft lbs of torque. But then I'm getting a dart 400 shortblock with forged internals, going to be porting my heads. I've already got the long tube headers, and true dual exhaust, edelbrock base manifold and AZ Speed and Marine runners. HOPEFULLY, that will be After I LSX swap my Gen 3 Camaro. (who knows, what could happen)

Why do you own a Vette? The whole point of these cars is to drive fast on twisty roads!

As far as unforeseen obstacles, those can be anywhere. I've been driving on twisty roads for over forty years and before that, riding with my dad in sports cars and have never had an issue.

I thought early on in this post that "12 inches" doesn't even own a Corvette. Seems pretty obvious. His call name says a lot. No information at all in his avatar and most of his replies or posts are fairly negative towards C4's. I'd guess......

B/c he probably knows that he's going to get banned (again).

Previous aliases;

Nelson84
Crossfire84
Renegade, et al
...I can't remember them all but there have been at least 15 different names for this guy. Most have been banned.
