I have an early C4 with a few light mods. I maybe have 280 hp. It sounds fasts but really isn't. You can spend $5000 on your early c4 and still get your a$$ handed to you by a new car.

Then you spent the wrong $5 grand in speed parts.

Seriously for right at 2k you can get 290 horse from a GM Crate engine. That's 10 more horse than what your car has for 3k less. You can find a used supercharger kit for about 3 pretty easily, which will take you up another 145...

If you wanted to go another 700 or so you could get a Ramjet 350 with 350 horse... spend another couple hundred and upgrade the mild cam that's in it....
280 horse for 5k...someone got taken

How fast do you want to earn points, fines, and court appearances?
How many times do you want to get pulled over?

Why look for another hassle... or you could start saving money for court and legal cost mods.

Just sayin'...

There are family sedans running 11 seconds now. Why do we even try anymore?

Couldn't care less. My LT1 car isn't exactly fast, but I bought it to be a track car, not to try to be the fastest car on the block. Even my C6GS I couldn't care less about faster cars than me - I usually wave and smile, they're like cousins in the rotherhood of sports cars.

I suggest if your ego is based on how fast your car is you may want to look into natural male enhancement products. There's always someone who put more money into the car, and someone with a faster car.

Now being upset at dumping a ton of money into mods for your car for a poor return in actual upgrade I can understand. Such is the problem with old engines, a lot of times it's cheaper to just swap engines to make the power rather than to try to redo the whole thing.

I did enjoy the ownership experience with my 95 LT1 car, but BMW's used to sweep the floor with me. Due to emissions inspection here, it was either mod an LS engine in a newer vette or get a ZR-1.

I did get beat by an E92 M3 the other day,but it had 500 to the rear wheels and a supercharger. People don't pick on my 91 ZR nearly as much as with my 95 coupe, but being metallic purple must have had a lot to do with it getting called out by average hp imports.

Many times many have "invited" me to go for it on green with Betty Boop, and I just know that 289 RWHP is not taking me anywhere.

Others tried that with The Ghost....

So far many tried with The Stallion (C5Z), but I've seen many Camaros, Mustangs, and Challengers with "fit" under the hood superchargers, and to avoid a beat I play cool. Here in SpCalifornia, the new muscle car market is huge, and these guys are installing all types of different S/C or turbos in their rides.

Today's mini-vans have as much horsepower as most of us have.

But I can still beat them. I have noticed that people in the adjacent lane tend to hang back. Kinda spoils the fun.

I once raced a Vette with my 80 Dodge Aspen. Slant six. I won, but maybe he didn't know that we were racing. Just sayin', it's only as fast as you are willing to drive it.

I would avoid any kind of car, at a traffic light, but at the track, It's going down. That's why I did a LQ4 swap and start doing a few mods. I've done all kinds on mods, to my C4. The swap is the best thing I have ever done to it, and it has up to date technology, so it runs like a modern car.

Heck, 99% of the time I get beat taking off from a street light by some young kid with a "popcorn" popper but I could car less. If I am not driving my 88 Vette convert. I am driving my 1930 Ford Model A Deluxe coupe. Regardless of which car I am driving I still get smiles from other drivers.
