What happened to the FRC?
As a previous C5 owner and now have a super clean LT4 CE car, I can say the C5 is really a better car. My C4 is a blast and I got a really good deal on it so that's why I went with the C4. Plus, it's a weekend only play car so I didn't want to have too much $ tied up in a car I only drive about once a month.
It I had a higher budget I would have gone with a C5. Don't get in a hurry to get a car. Take your time and keep looking. There are a lot of them for sale.
I'm working in the Boston area and went to see and old friend in VT. He has a '62 and has had a bunch of Vettes so is looking for a late model one. There is a local dealer that has a 75K mile 2005 C6 M6 for $15.5K! Paint has some nicks but clean overall and that's a killer price.
$7500 was a fair price for that C4 but his new prices are way too high. It wouldn't surprise me if after a couple weeks of no calls the guys calls you back and tries to get you to buy it again. Then you can low ball him at $5K!

Actually, I might look at a clean 94 6-speed this afternoon. I know the C5 is a "better" car but they are over my budget. The only reason I looked at the 2000 was because it was a FRC.

the good thing is that as these cars are so tough to sell these days and he passed up your sale he probably will get stuck with it. Especially since winter is right around the corner. Wait 3 months and offer him 6500!

Something don't seem right about that. Why would you do the buy it now at the last second. You could of bought at any time. And why bid right to $13500 when the last bid was only $3333.
Seems weird.
If he did sell it, now he could pay me my money!

$10 says its back up for sale next week. There's so much BS about EBAY cars, you are better off assuming its a lie. File a small claims suit against him if you haven't already.

I'm going to be nice and try one more time to try to get my money back. If I can't, it only costs $10 to file a claim in small claims court and the court house is only 5 minutes from where I work.

I texted him about an hour ago with no answer. I could go to his house, but I think that could turn ugly rather quickly.

I'm thinking he didn't put a reserve on the car and saw how low the bidding was, got a buddy to open up an E-bay account and buy the car before it sold for $3333. The buyer had zero transactions.
