non pop-up headlights from breathless performance; anyone have them ?
one of the hinges on the driver side headlight broke this weekend, and i'm currently searching for a replacement. a complete kit from MAD sells for $599 for both sides. i'm also looking at the non pop-up headlights from breathless performance ($999  ), and i'm wondering if anyone has them on their c4. pics and info on fit would be appreciated.
thanks,
joel

I was interested in those lights too. But with that price tag, I am reluctant to spend it on something that will not improve the performance of my car. Besides, my lights still work ok.
Does anybody have them on their car? I would love to see a pic and read of their experience with them.

I've seen the Breathless C4 at shows, and I don't particularly like the look. I think their C5 kit looks a lot better.

I like the popup headlights and won't ever trade them for fixed headlights :nonod:
I don't much like the look of the aftermarket fixed headlights on a 'vette. It just doesn't fit.

There is a charcoal 90 in this thread that has them. There is also a behind the hood shot.

Agreed. Eventually I'm gonna get the fixed lights. But like someone else here said, I'm busy spending my $$ on go fast mods and rims/tires :yesnod: :flag :seeya

thanks for the feedback. i tried repairing the old headlight , but the motor alone at the dealer cost $500, and i don't want to spend that kind of money again for the left side. MAD is selling a two system kit for 599, but kind of leaning towards the breathless (899) one to be different.

They look very cool on the C5 (see signature below :) ), but the one's for the C4's are ugly IMHO.

One of the things I hope GM gets right with the C6 is pop-up headlights. They have been on Vettes since 1963 and I don't see any reason to replace them on any Vette. JMHO. Pick another mod! I'd rather have those new high output headlights inside the pop-ups.

Obvoiusly not a popular opinion, but I just gotta disagree with most on this topic. Although I think the designer of the breathless system could have streamlined the covers or somehow made them more asthetically pleasing, I think they look fine on the C4 and it's just one less thing to break on these machines. I have never been a fan of pop up light on any car, Vette or otherwise. IMHO, it makes the car look like a blasted bug when deployed and has to make the car "dirty" (referring to the airflow) at speed.
Oh well, as I've said before, to each their own. Maybe one day I can afford a set :yesnod:
