Trade in your C4 for ......
I'm curious if you had the extra cash, would you trade in your beloved C4 for another comparable high end Sports Car?
Examples ....
Camaro ZL1
Mustang GT500
Dodge Viper
Porsche 911
Audi R8
Lamborghini Diablo
Mini Cooper JCW
Examples ....

Define "extra cash". If you mean winning $20M in the lottery extra cash then I'd but every one of those cars and keep my C4! Well, maybe not the Mini.
If I had just enough to buy one of them (new) I still wouldn't trade in my C4. First of all, a dealer won't give you squat for your C4 anyway. Second, I buy a used C6Z or maybe a C6 Grand Sport convertible and keep the C4.

Clown Shoe car? No. High maintenance, not a lot of storage room, and to sound right, the engine needs either two more cylinders or two fewer.
Mini? Hardly (ask about the life expectancy of the manual trans... )
The Lambo, Audi and 911 can be very expensive to repair and even maintain. Now maybe a GT3....
The GT500 would not be a bad alternative simply because it has room, decent styling, and any Ford dealer in the US can work on it. Or any independent auto repair shop.
Same with the ZL1 Camaro. Although both of these cars have IMHO pretty poor rear visibility. And why the Camaro designers limited the opening in the trunk to a lame-azz 2'x3' size is beyond me.

I'll take a yellow 1st gen Elise.
My favorites are the Elise, C4 GS, Porsche 918, ALFA 4C, and C7 ZO6. I'd like to have them all to be honest

No trading, or buying. For cars that you can buy, the C4 is hard to beat, for performance, and for fun, IMO.
No, my next toy car, if there is a next, will be something that I build myself; A F5 GTM, or a Triumph TR4/6 w/Corvette drivetrain...something like that. Something that is all me...all mine.

They're all good choices except the Mini Cooper. It shouldn't even be in the same class with the rest of the cars listed. Some people may like them, but I know what I think when I see a Mini. The owners name must be "Skip" "Biff" "Muffin" "Tipper" etc.

You dream big-I'll give you that. A GT500? If all you are trading is a C4 maybe that's a fair down payment on a V6 Mustang.
A C4 ZR-1 with a couple of bolt-ons is comparable to a newer style 5 liter mustang GT in acceleration. Now that's a fair trade since the values/performance are in the same ballpark.

I have this demonic thought about selling 2/3 Vettes, and buy the Challenger 392 SRT or
the Hellcat if possible. It would be Silver with stripes.

I don't plan on getting rid of my C4. I've invested too much of my time into the car to get my value out of selling it. However I wouldn't mind parking a C6 z06 and a C7 z06 next to the C4 in the garage.
