Default Antenna replacement

New to corvettes always wanted one,got a 91 about a month ago and joined here.lots of good info,but can i take out the power antenna and just put in a regular one ? mine not working right.just a standard bolt on one. thanks

I think the power ant was a option. my 1980 has a power ant, my 1985 has non power ant, and the 1994 has a power ant. So I would think you could just get a regular ant and install it.

If you can hear the motor run in the unit when you turn on the radio , it may just need a new replacement mast...Id say 75% of the time this is the problem.. You can pick these up at most Corvette parts sites and even on ebay...Shop for best price....WW

My power antenna went bad. Just replaced it with a standard non-power telescopic one. Goes almost flat into the body when I want it to.

Thanks,wasn't sure of it needed to be grounded.going to yank this old radio and speakers out soon.

if you live near Indianapolis, swing by the house and you can have the 91 power unit I have sitting in the back yard, no charge...well, maybe a 6er U could share with me,lol.
