OK well I finished this project for my woodworking projects over the weekend. Got dust all over the Vette. But a brisk drive last night up to 70-ish blew most of it off. I await my car cover in the mail...

Car looked like a barn find for a while. But the good news was, no dust inside it, so the weatherstripping is good.

Looks great. Nice workspace you have there. I got the project done for the Mrs. She wanted to turn three office/storage rooms into another dance room. 80% of this was done over the weekend and I am quite spent. And I still hate sheetrock. Name: image-2890956269.jpg

You see, now that I have busted my nutt getting that done I have bought myself a good quantity of "corvette time". Time I can spend on the vette and not "hear" anything. Well that's my theory anyway.

What's the chance of getting it on the road this year?
I assume since you're in New York that you put it up
for the winter, right?

Chances are good that I can drive it before winter. Its going to be full steam ahead now. Ill drive it as long as the roads are clean then I keep it in the garage over the winter.

Oh noooooooooo! I am sorry to hear that. Do you go to any local shows? Hope to see you on the road, with a new top! You can try giving AALCO a call. They had 2 C4's a while back. Both had tops.

Damn DT, that looks pretty good. But I would expect that from the work you're doing on your car.

I got my car cover in the mail yesterday and it fits great, covers well, and appears to be of good quality. Since I'm only using it in the garage, I expect it to last a long time.

Now I can start in earnest on a complex woodworking project that involves making a curved hatch for my sailboat.

How are you making out Dt? Lots of water up there? Hoping all is going good for you and can't wait to see it all back together again!

Hi John. Thanks for the kind words. So far the weather hasn't been too bad. It's just been overcast with light rain. Temps have dropped and the leaves have already started changing and dropping with the fall winds. There's no mistake fall is here.
As far as the car goes, not so good. The painter has been dragging his feet to get my bumpers finished. He shot them and they had a reaction so he has to strip them down and start over. He's been doing other paying jobs instead and I gave him a piece of my mind with it being fall and he said it would be done by spring. Now I'm screwed out of a years driving. He said he will try to get them done this week but I think it's just lip service. Really PO'd at this point. Aside from that everything else is done on the car. Just waiting to get my runner gaskets and then I can get that finished up. I am having gaskets cut from tracings since the runners are ported so much and it will be nice to have exact spares for the future. Hopefully they will come in the next week or two so I can at least be done with that. There will be no stopping this project due to weather. I installed a garage heater today to keep it comfy all winter long. I may just do the rear diff swap after the intake is done since the bumper is out of the way. Going to have to see how things play out.

Dt, Sure do hope the painter steps up for you. Garage heater is great! I spent an entire GA winter (read pretty mellow) in an open "pass through 4 bay" barn in GA one winter working on my very early production Miata. We burned an awful lot of wood with tarps on the bay openings to try and stay warm lol. Cheers to you!

Been slowly working my way through this thread to see it all! Amazing work, some of the stuff you've done I would never have the patience for, but i'm glad someone does. My vettes been painted like 2 1/2 times already, keeping with the white (the half is because the previous owner only painted parts of the car, 10 feet away you can't tell closeup you can)

Thanks, I know what you mean about the white not matching. Mine was the same way. I don't know if it's patience as much as it's more something that's got to get done. Some things certainly "tried" my patience but that's what these cars are good at! Lol. The bottom line is have fun and enjoy your car.
