I like it because I saw one in grade 5 and said I have to have one. I like everything about it and now it is vintage and I like old stuff and a bonus is its cheap.

When the C4 1st came out I was a die hard C3 fan, looked at the 84's said I would never own one. Can't say i still think that way

I like the C4 so much because it's an entry-level quasi-exotic sports car that's different than the usual cars my millennial generation lusts after (like Supra's, RX-7's, Z32's etc) I can tune it relatively cheaply, maintenance is a snap (unlike any of the Z32's I've owned in the past) and the thing was fast right out of the box.
Living in Tokyo as a youth you would see a tuned C4 Corvette rumble by Shinjuku (along side other imported exotics) and the C4 always caught my eye.

I've owned mine for about 10 days and I can tell you it was an emotional buy. That is, after seeing a 91 with 72k for $4.5k. It has a few issues but like someone said, it's like wearing it when you are driving. I was blown away by the shape and the way it drives. It reminds me a little of the C2s but with a little more comfort and technology. You don't feel quite as close to the road but it's similar. It's just a cool car: flip hood, convertible, aluminum wheels, great exhaust note and it says "corvette" on the back. I love it!

I think it has a lot of the feel of the earlier Corvettes had except is handles better. The earlier Corvettes had a different feel then regular cars. You knew you were in a Corvette when you drove or sat in them. Some say the C5 and newer Corvettes lost some of that feel. Maybe they are right. The C4 still has that feel. Sitting a little low below the dash and the traditional two red round tail lamps, hidaway headlght which the C4 shows so well like the C2. All that kind of stuff makes its special.

Mine is an 89 convertible... It has an aftermarket exhaust system... On a nice sunny day, all I need to do is drop the top and stab the accelerator, and I have instant mood improvement.

Buying a C4 now-a-days is just an all around good deal. Parts exist & are easily found, they aren't going down in value much anymore, modern tech, good performance, decent insurance cost, and they look very different than a garden variety 1/2 bubble shapped commuter car. And you can find them in every state of condition. Everything from low milage garage queens.. to a 200k mile beater.
My only complaint about C4s is that some of the parts are a bit pricey. For example the cost of upgrading the rear end ring and pinion. And/or swapping a D36 for a D44.

The C4 is the coolest looking of the vettes in my opinion. Especially when that clamshell hood comes up.
It drives like it's on rails, is reliable (mine's a DD at 147,800miles). It's still quick after mods, sounds great, provides great drivers feedback. Still a force on autocross tracks too if competition is your thing.

Well, for me it was a car I lusted after as a kid. They are ridiculously cheap, incredibly sexy, don't insulate the driver from the experience of driving, and provide a cockpit that allows the little boy in you to engage your imagination when you click the ASR switch off.
To many newer cars are attempting to appear to be more masculine by incorporating a more angular, aggressive look. The C4 manages this persona while maintaining an artistic shape.

Very hard to get more Corvette for the money.
The best driver positioning of any Corvette. You wear it.
A major suspension upgrade over the previous generations.
Not over complicated electronics.
Responds well to bolt ons.
Decent fuel economy.
While not perfect there's a big upside to the C4 and from the L98 to the ZR1 to the LT4 there is something for just about everyone.

The late great talk show host Johnny Carson once said of all the Corvettes he owned, his 93 white C4 was his favorite.
Also, legendary Miami Dolphin QB Dan Marino regretted selling his Red C4 ....
Don Shula still owns his 1980s white C4.
