Default I need some answers for my '87 L98 TPI

My car is bone stock with the exception of straight pipes, no cats, magnaflow mufflers with what I believe to be LT1 style tips , and a K&N air filter.
My car has a kill switch and I use it frequently. Well what is funny is that when I don't use it, my car starts hard with a check engine light coming on. when I start it after turning off my kill switch it fires right up and doesn't have a problem. My idle does surge , I know it's a vacuum leak so I checked my CSI and found that it was a little lose. the problem is that the start up is very hard and I can't use the AC straight from start up as it will kill the car once I let off the gas coming to a stop for example, it works but if I were to rev it to about 800rpm ( I idle at 500-600 RPM in about 85-95* weather in south Florida) it dies and has a very hard time cranking up. I plan on cleaning the MAF sensor and the IAC. Would that solve the problem ? I also do plan on removing the CSI system.
