Default What can you fit in the hatch of your C4?

Its crazy what you can fit into the hatch of a lot of sports cars, and I was amazed at how well my 94 could hold a day's worth of fun with my wife.. My wife and I dropped the kids off with her parents and we took my Corvette out for the day. Low and behold, and looking back on it, it should not have been a shock that we would end up going shopping. She kept throwing stuff in the cart and I was skeptical that all the stuff she was putting in the cart would fit under the hatch in the Vette. Luckily it did. Was like a jigsaw puzzle of sorts to get it all to fit and have the hatch close properly. I took pics to share with you folks on how much crap you can stuff back there and still have the hatch close.. Not great for rearward vision, but she was happy.

I too like taking the vette to the supermarket. I love the looks I get from people as they are loading their mini-vans.

several years ago, the wife, the dog, and i came to florida for the winter. packed enough stuff in the back of my 96 for 3 months, and that included a bunch of Christmas gifts, and the dog crate. the hatch area was stuffed, and it was packed up the rear glass, and the rear view mirror was pretty much useless. but, the all time winner for cargo carrying capacity has to go the C5 coupe!

I've carried my new rear end in the back of the car and I left the hatch open once and let the box to my dog's cage lay 1/2 in and 1/2 out. That one got some looks.

I was surprised to learn that my 10'x10' easy-up shade will fit into the Corvette hatch, placed sideways.

I packed mine with beach chairs and all beach equipment for some runs down the shore this summer. It looked amusing - I should have taken pics! There's always next year...

Two 275-40-17 tires and a weeks worth of groceries ! With a tiny bit of room to spare. The real test will be November 1. I'm moving from AZ to Seattle. How much of my stuff can I fit in the hatch ?

I put a 4 foot by 4 foot piece of plywood in the back of my car. It was very tight but it did fit.

When I went to have my tires changed last year, I fit 2 )275 40-17) and 2 (245-45-17) tires in the back..It was tight but they fit..This way I didn't have to take another vehicle just to haul the tires.......WW

I put my mountain bike in the back of mine...blow people's minds that it fits in there, behind both seats.

I was younger and dumber back then After moving it upstairs then back downstairs twice I decided to give it away to a new home, the only stipulation was that they had to carry it lol

I actually had a hard time giving mine away. I rolled it out the door and into my truck on a dolly. I even delivered it to someone. I did let them unload it.
