Default Brake Lines

In looking to upgrade my stock name lines to stainless steel braided lines. What is the best source for these lines? I'm assuming I should be able to get a set for around $100 for all 4.

Think I got mine off amazon or ebay. mine are actually C5 lines, they fit but are a bit longer than the C4 lines.

Do they have C4 specific ones or not? Why did you decide on C5 lines?

I have heard (haven't used them myself) that these guys are very good:

My understanding is that they can supply both regular and stainless steel brake lines.

not sure what year C4 you have, but I've put several sets of goodridge G-stop, S/S brake lines, on my 85, and previously on a 90 I used to own. perfect fit and no issues. they been on my 85 since 2006. bought them on-line for just over $100.

I found Russell lines on Amazon for $109. I already have amazon points to purchase the lines. Plus they are Prime shipping available.

I had a set of Russell lines on my old '92. They were so short that when I raised the car off the ground, the line stretched to the point where they were tight and looked like they could break.

I have Earl's stainless lines on my '87 right now and there is enough slack on them when the car is raised that I Can grab the center of the line and move them sideways a good inch. They appear to be much better made than the Russell stuff.

When I did a C5 front brake upgrade, I didn't change the front hoses. The block fitting at the caliper worked fine. and I still had some slack to the front lines. These lines have lasted for a good 7 years now with the car primarily being used for autocross and track days.

Goodridge is another good stainless hose. For prices, figure on $125 to $140 or so. IMHO, there's a reason why Russell lines are cheaper....

I only thought about Russell lines because they were on Amazon and I have points to use there.

It sounds like their figment is not good.

Have Goodridge G-stop lines on my 96. Also have them my 2000 Sonoma. Never had any issues with them.

They were the same and there were more options. The lines I got were Techna-fit (they came recommended from the road course guys), and I got them on Amazon. $100 shipped with Amazon Prime.

So C5 lines work without issues?

Yup, they fit without issue, they're just longer by a decent amount. Can't say for sure that the aftermarket C4 lines aren't the same length, but these lines were certainly longer than my stock rubber lines. A spiral of the line takes up the extra slack without issue.

Why is the ZR1 different for these stainless steel brake hoses?

Amazon Amazon

I also found some technafit hoses that are on amazon for around $99.

Anyone have experience with these?
