Default Would C4 owners buy a C4 painted in 73 Black Rose

I have the opportunity to possibly buy/trade for a 1994 C4 in the black rose color. The question I have to you C4 members, is when considering your past C4 purchase, was a purple car out of the question? How high up to scale was the color? Is it one of the harder colors to potentially sell if the time came? Let me know your thoughts below.
Thanks!

It's better than Aqua...

(if you have to worry about potential to sell the car in the future, before you've even bought it, you've already made up your own mind... you don't need our help)

I own two 1994 Corvettes - one is a Black Rose ZR-1 and the other is a Bright Aqua Metallic coupe. I love both of the colors. Colors like Black Rose and Bright Aqua are one of the best things about the C4. Not all Corvettes are red!!!

That is funny you mention aqua, because I have sold a 92 aqua before (was my first C4). I guess I am onto hardest to sell color number two!

Funny thing - my choices came down to a Rose one and an Aqua one. I chose the Aqua, and I've never had a moment of disappointment. It's a very unusual color and stands out in the crowd. Maybe it stamps it as being "early 1990's" but heck, that's what she is.

Don't worry about driving a "purple car" - Black Rose is one of the most beautiful colors out there. And you'll never have to go down a row of Corvette's trying to figure out which one is yours!

Back around 1995, I was looking for a C4 and I found two that were the same price, similarly equipped and both had just over 10K miles on them. Both were '92's and one was a Polo Green with tan interior 'vert and the other was a Black Rose with black interior coupe. The 'vert was an A4 and the coupe was a 6-speed. They were sitting side-by-side in a showroom at a Corvette specialty shop so it was a hard choice to make.

I chose the Polo Green convertible because of the auto trans. Having owned manual trans cars for years, I wanted something different and I never owned a 'vert. There were a few times that I wished I had chosen the Black Rose coupe because of the color. It's not the same "purple" as the '95 Dark Purple Metallic. Black Rose is darker and has more metallic flakes in it. Under low light conditions, the Black Rose color gets darker as does the Polo Green color.

So go with the Black Rose color!! The available interior colors were black, light beige, and light gray; which one does the car have??

I bought a 1992 Black Rose Corvette. I recently sold it at my asking price to the first person who looked at it. This was a while after I bought my 1991 Bright Turquoise Metallic.

Black Rose is a beautiful color.

I really like the Bright Turquoise, which is a different color from the Bright Acqua.

My first modern Corvette was a 1991 Steel Blue Metallic, another somewhat uncommon, very beautiful color. I also sold it to the first person who came to look at the car.

Many here will tell you that one of the great C4 colors is Dark Red Metallic. Betty Boop has received numerous thumbs up, and positive comments from people all over the country.

A color choice is very subjective.
IMO you should buy what you like and tell any
critics to stick it up their exhaust pipe................

Personally I find it a little offensive for someone to post that they hate Aqua or Black Rose. To me, that's a little too much judging of someone else's likes and dislikes.

I may not like what you did to your car .. but it's not MY car, and apparently YOU like it. <shrug>

That said, I hate eating peas. Did I offend anyone in the pea lobby?

If you like and can afford it, then go for it. You have no one to please other than yourself.

You are asking whether it's blondes, brunettes or redheads that we like. It goes like this: if a man had a choice of a woman who had millons of $ and they were all good looking, sexy and wanted to give you the greatest time of your life, which one would you pick? The one with the biggest ***** of course. Everything is subjective. Color is no exception. Only YOU is the one who has to be satisfied and that's all that counts!!!

I had a 95 vette that was dark rose metallic. It was originally black, but the original owner had it redone to dark rose probably after a fender bender with insurance money to help. That paint job was so complete (under trim and everywhere) that I never knew it wasn't original until I decoded the RPO code sticker. Actually 95's had a redder purple...

but back to the point- I liked the color, but it was hard as hell to sell. It was one of the cheapest sub-100k mi 6 speed LT1 cars in the area, but it still took 90 days to find a buyer. I once had it sold to a guy I was talking to at work during winter time when it is dark in the mornings. He was horrified to find out it was purple when the sun came up! He was like, oh! damn...no, I'll pass.. haha

Even the guy who sold it to me was "watch out for the Barney jokes".

My 92 is Black Rose and when I bought it as I approached it (cloudy day) I thought it was black with a hint of purple. But after seeing in the bright light--Me and my wife both said- awesome----Such a cool color---so different and so attractive.
I think it is one of Corvettes best colors ever.

When I was lookin to purchase my 1st 'Vette I was lookin fer a Black car. Sellers were askin to much money cuz its Black (I thought Red was expensive!) so I was gonna go with a '95 Black Rose 'Vert (really cool color) ...sold the day I went to look at it. Back to CL n saw a '96 Polo Green II Metallic. Seller had just listed it 2hrs prior n I was the 1st to contact. Awesome color in person...bought it right there. No regrets!

Unless your looking to be judged as a NCRS Corvette award I would not worry about color so much. C4 can look good in colors not available for the year they were sold.

My 92 is black rose. It gets compliments every time I take it out. The only issue I have had is the shop that painted the front and rear bumpers was worried that the body color, (which was in great shape then), was going to be hard to blend. However they got it perfect.

It is a great color. Mine is starting to fade a little and probably needs painting now.

Black Rose looks great.

As a matter of fact, I'm not sure there is a _bad_ color for a Corvette ...
