I had one of those little "oil keepers" on your rear main cap. I kept trimming and trimming to get the pan to fit. finally just threw it in the garbage. LOL
what is the origin of that block ? I know the casting numbers have little to do with original capacity, but its funny that its got 327 cast on each side of it !
I can't tell you what the 327 means but it's been cast into every LT1 engine that I have seen. I think it just happens to be a standard chevy size and therefore the confusion.
Here's mine. Hope you can see the 327.

Hahaha, I posted from my cellphone and wasn't sure what the pic would look like. It was originally a pic to show the dipstick tube hitting the splayed 4 bolt main cap.
