Going pretty slow. I am taking internet classes, so
I am at work every night until 7:00 or so. I only get to work on it on the weekends only right now.

I got the fuel injector back a a week or so ago and got it in but it had a leak on one of the hard lines. I got the leak fixed today and go to hear her run! She smokes some, I hope that will clear up, but if not looks like I will rebuild and detail out the engine compartment in the process.
It was very nice to hit the key and she purrs

Not gas smoke, but not truly oil smoke either. Hopefully it will burn off like you said. The engine sounds great.

Nice to see an '84 rescued! I've had mine for 8 years now(sep '83 build) and
although the ride is like a buckboard, it's still fun to run it up the twisty mountain highways!

Can't wait to see more pics of the car! I would assume the smoke may be a brownish in color given what could have been in the lines and filter and pump and tank and what not. That old gas that was sitting in the fuel system probably smelled terrible. Did you remove the pump and sender and check for debris or varnished gas in the tank?
Either way, it sounds like you may have a few detail things to sort out and then perhaps take it on a test drive? Would be good to read that it went down the road straight and that the transmission shifted well. Would be the icing on the cake really.

I looked in the tank and it was not bad.

Early in the thread you mentioned having a set of '84 wheels that you would like to have cleaned up. Are you still planning to go that route or are you going to leave the A-molds on there?

I am thinking I will keep the a-molds. Once the 11's went on the rear, I was hooked.
