Cluster Question..
Hey guys,
I am helping do some work on my dads 95 C4. My mother bought him a working cluster from a 96 LT4 for Christmas (His has some lighting issues)
Are those clusters interchangeable? (96 LT4 to a 95 LT1 auto)
I believe they are, but Dads C4 is an Auto. Im sure the LT4 isn't. I may have to remove the (upshift) bulb from the cluster.
Is there any other reason this wouldn't work?
Thanks a bunch guys,
Joey

Drifting
Good question... the answer is not exactly.
The tach range on the instrument panel is higher (LT4) than the LT1.
Physically may look the same... but there are electronic differences (manual/auto).
[i could be wrong tho - am looking up the pinout harness configuration if it is the same for both auto/manual.]
Someone with a 96 FSM/LT4 may be able to confirm... below is the pinout configuration for a 94 LT1

I believe that a person only need to check the owners manual for the "warning light" configuration. A very long time ago I did some cluster comparisons and this is a link to a repost of someone's to that information.

I can't confirm first hand the '94 - '96 swap but most of the swaps have been confirmed by CF members. You can access the owners manuals here without establishing an account to compare cluster warning configuration:

The Corvette owners manuals are available in several other places also.
The cluster connector "pin-out" isn't the determining factor but I'm confident its very similar, the final is the configuration of the "internals" of the cluster.

I didn't compare but here's the '96 cluster "pin-out".

I have a 94 with a 96 LT4 cluster 8k tach
Everything works. No mods needed! the tach is spot on. I also had this same 96 LT4 Cluster in my previous 94. With many data logs from tuning.
