Very nice. I have a friend who works at a local dealer who lucked out and scored a LS7 long block for $1200. The catch was #3 rod suffered a spun bearing. Owner didn't want to worry about teardown and wanted a brand new engine...right place right time, I guess.

cool project but I think if I had that kind of money to do everything he did id just go looking for a c6 706 for not much more then the cost of his motor. He could have started with that and supercharged it and still had less money into it and could still get his money back a couple years from now.

I agree with arbee. When I had the LS376/480 installed in my '92 it cost me a bundle. I could have easily bought a stock C6 Z06 instead but my wife and I wanted something unique, not just another C6 Z06. We got it. I cannot find another C4 anywhere with that engine in it and it does very well in car shows, even against C6s. On top of that my car actually has similar hp and better tq numbers than a stock C6 Z06. As it is tuned now it produces 429 rwhp and 442 rwtq on a loaded dyno. Of course we cannot get the power to the road, but it is there. We are very happy with our choice. Just my 2 cents.

Oh, and I totally identify with the "uniqueness" attraction. (Course the added "sleeper" performance aspect ain't too bad either!)

Well not so sure about the "sleeper" value since my car and the one on the video sound nothing like a C4. Hard to sucker someone in once they hear the car.

That's a nice build. 427 LS7 motors can now be bought new for 13K-14K
