I don't think Ill be buying one at this point. I planned to leave most of the hood unpainted and I don't think I would be happy with the finish.

Not a whole lot of progress, the body shop was running out of room so I went down there and picked up my old hood. I have it on the for sale section and Craig's List.

Still hoping to see the hood in primer, but it may be early next week.

There will always be some cost unless you're doing the work yourself. Without any sanding/grinding, the hood would have looked decent and once adjusted work just fine. You'd be out a couple hundred probably for having a shop do it.

With everything I'm doing in fit/finish/paint/accessories my hood will probably set me back about $5000. $1474 for the initial hood, $1500 for body work, $500 paint, $500 stainless steel panels, $250 Chrome springs, $50 LED lights, $100 replacement aluminum grills, $230 chrome hood prop, $140 chrome hood struts, that leaves $256 for anything else.

Hood is off the car so the sanding can be finished up before primer this coming week. @GreggPenn, that's your Crossbrace next to the car which should finally get installed this week as well.

I took the screens off, simple task with just some metal tabs holding them on.

Will be replacing them with this and probably put the same in the fender side vents as well.

I wonder if this hood will allow the holley stealth ram to fit without mods. In the original hood it is about 1 inch to high at the tb. Anybody know For sure?

It all is looking great! Total one-of-a-kind but not in anyway 'ricey' or 'gaudy'.

Compliments the existing looks and lines subtly.

I wonder if QwikZ06 could get the carbon fiber supports from 'Black Dog Speedshop' and graft the vented hood onto that - for those of us interested in more weight savings!

Wow this is turning out great.
1500 for the hood...and 1k of bodywork... I love the extractors. I really really love those.
It's still between this and a Toledo Pro hood though I think for mine.. wow.
Just wow. It does look like, just like the other private owned one it sits a little high and is a little thick upfront....
But otherwise it can be adjusted out?

Everything was adjusted for except for being thick up front. There's nothing that can be done about that except center it. We're sanding mine down so that it's even. I could have gotten away with leaving it as is, especially if it were to be left carbon fiber. Painted panel to painted panel would show the difference more.

I wish I could see one of these painted in silver to get an idea how it'd look on my car as is, or close to it.
Could you photoshop one on a pic?

I like the paint scheme you came up with. I put my hood on my dad's car as I didn't like it more than my Toledo Pro. We have talked about different paint schemes but be hasn't decided yet. I am going to do the paint work so when we get there I'll post pics of it

Toledo Pro is nice... you could add some extractor vents and glass them in and have something equivalent.

The cowl is too high for me, but if I weren't going emblem free on the front the second best option would be the recessed emblem of the Toledo hood.

Yep, same hood. My manufacturer distributes to thousands of people, but my prices are much better.

When I saw the pictures of the carbon being sanded down I just thought of a million import guys screaming hahaha. The fit was close, that hood is a tough one. It's actually the largest hood we sell in our line. I'm glad I got to see it before paint. I'm sure once it's painted though it will be perfect.
