Yeah, I hear ya. Greys and blacks all go together, but the beige and saddles don't. Reminds me of one I was looking at. Had a nice saddle interior, but they had replaced the seats with the later model beige, and it just irked me to look at the darker door panels against the light beige seats. Get it right if you're gonna spend the dough to restore it!

Couldn't tell ya on the interior, but probably.
I know with exterior... dark red metallic itself had something like three different codes during the life of the C4. Same name, different shades. Was more bronze-ish early, then became more red in '89 and changed again a few years later. GM and their subtle changes.

Did the passenger side tonight, at least the covers. The seat base/bottom is not quite as badly rusted as the other, but it's close.
Here's a pic of the seat bottom being assembled:
And after assembly, with the elastic bands keeping everything trapped:
And the seat back, note the long velcro tongue sticking out beneath:
The velcro allows you to pull things tight, and there are also velcro "tapes" that come from the side to help pull things together.

In several of the pictures, you can see the hog rings holding the original leather in. I was really tempted to pull the leathers off and use the Iggees as skins, just didn't really have the time to do so. However, it seems a viable idea.
I'll post some final pics of the seats back in the car, probably this weekend.
I have the main weatherstripping done and the top back on the car. With all the cleaning and vacuuming done, and the seats in place, it feels very nice to just sit in her. A little more Febreze to get rid of the odd smells and she'll feel pretty good.

The passenger side wasn't in quite as bad a shape as the driver side, at least so far as wear. However, the leather was very stiff and the final fit wasn't as nice as the driver seat.

I got some Ozium that seemed to do a decent job on one of my other cars.
I was considering starting another thread on interior air freshener opinions ..

You mean you DON'T like "old perfumey moldy smell?"
With new weatherstripping and iggee seat covers, plus some general cleaning up, I can imagine its starting to feel a bit different in there. And hey, you'll be able to drive in the weather without people getting wet pants, lol.
How has the weatherstripping replacement treated you? Easy, tedious?

By TUESDAY night, I had the second seat half done, and had managed to replace the weatherstripping on the front/a pillar and the targa top.
Some bright soul decided to use like .. an entire tube of weatherstripping adhesive per foot. Took me an entire evening of scraping to remove the weatherstripping (and associated glue) from the top.
Installation went rather well, actually. And I used very little adhesive per a number of forum comments.
At any rate, I expect to reinstall the second seat tonight, and I'm going to leave the rest of the weatherstripping until it's warmer. The part that was leaking has been replaced, so that's "the important thing".

Coming in the home stretch, folks ..
This is the seat back completed with the slits/slots cut in it:
Here's a close up of the lower cut - I made this one a real hole instead of a slit like the last seat. It took me about 45 minutes less to get this seat back together, mostly from the stuff I learned putting the LAST one together:
And finally, here are some images of the finished product. I think it looks great, for not much more than the cost of a cheap set of pull on covers. I'll post a couple pics this weekend of the car with both seats, the console cover and the new rear view mirror.

I am truly amazed at how good this looks.
As for the seat cover surface, how is it in terms of slippery-ness?
like if you cornered fast are they more slippery than the leather covers?

Not slippery at all. But not .. sticky. It's hard to quantify, plus I've only driven maybe 3-4 miles in the driver seat. After this weekend, I plan to have some more testing in. But I really expect it to be just about like brand new leather. That's what it feels and sounds like. However, there's no leather smell .. unfortunately. Maybe I can find some "fine leather" Febreze.

Two things stand out right away. The front bumper and the body moldings. The front bumper because its a tight fit and was literally a wrestling match trying to get it off. Probably would have been easier with another person. And the moldings because the bolts rust inside the molding and spin in there when you try to remove the nut. Or the nuts just rust in place on the bolts.
