Default arghh,, insurance cost

Ok guys, needsome leads on cheap insurance for the vette. Dont drive it often ( now none, winter). Have a class A license for Semi trucks and my insurance still wants 900 a year and that doesn't include the other car or my pick-up. No, I am a company driver, not owner operator. Thanks,

Give NCM insurance a call. I have my 91' insured and its $269 a year. With agreed value. My run a little more for you, I drive less than 1000 a year. But doesn't cost much more for increased miles. Adam Boca is great to deal with.

What sort of coverages and deductibles were you quoted? Rates depend on a lot of things: age, marital status, mileage driven, garaged or not, ZIP code, even your income/credit score! Traffic record is another big factor; is the company giving you a quote including your commercial driving record?

If the car isn't a DD, then contact Adam Boca at the NCM. They have great rates, but they don't insure daily driver vehicles.

Are you a military veteran? If so, you may want to contact USAA.

NCM. You can get an agreed value policy and their profit helps to support the museum.
I had a claim for my 91 last summer and the whole process was smooth and easy

Wow that seems high. I pay $212/yr. for full coverage. It's in storage until Spring so just have comp. on it now. So my total cost driving 6 months a year is somewhere around $150.

The company I use is Westfield.

thanks guys. Am 64, perfect record, great credit score. Not a daily driver. The wife was quoting our current insurance company. NCM sounds like a good idea.. gotta have insurance so might as well support our hobby.

Call State Farm if you do not have a garage. Call American Collectors if you do. End of story. Lots of experience with this.

My personal experience. State Farm did not sell 'agreed value' coverage. They only had a 'stated value' policy. The fine print says that they will pay 'up to' the stated value on your policy. This leaves a gray area if they determine your vehicle value is not what was stated when writing the policy.

I have been with American Collectors for all my previous cars since they do have an agreed value policy. With the purchase of my C4, I found NCM to offer the same agreed value policy at a lower price than American Collectors (although not a huge difference). The difference is that NCM does not mind you taking a few pleasure cruises or even taken your vehicle to work every so often, but obviously can't be a daily driver. They also gave me options on mileage, I believe up to 6K per year.

Just filled out an online full coverage quote at NCM for my 92 and it came up with around $162 annually

sounds real low so I ask the guy to get back to me.

I'm paying around $600 a year for my '94, and a bit less for the '84. I better start looking around for a different insurance carrier, I guess. I'm with Farmers.

I am just now switching from normal coverage to collector car insurance for my '94 and I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner. You should be able to get a quote for much less, considering I got a quote for ~ $400 per year and insurance is not cheap in NYC suburbs where I am. Most (if not all?) companies offer collector policies.

Hanover - umbrella policy

I was also told by a local Corvette buddy that Leland Insurance is a good company to use.
